Radio Light and Radio Naya Jiwan (Fiji)

Radio Light and Radio Naya Jiwan are ministries of Evangelical Bible Mission Trust Board. (EBM) Our sole purpose is to spread the Gospel of Christ Jesus. Our ministry is two fold. Our ministry is to the lost with the message of the cross, “no you can not get to heaven without salvation“, while our ministry is also to the body of Christ with the message of Holiness. “Be ye holy for I am Holy, be not conformed to this world but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, to be equal in all your ways“.

EBM was issued a broadcast licence in 1994. Radio Light began broadcasting from Shop 11B, Pacific Harbour Cultural Centre on FM106 in November of 1996. In July of 1997 Radio Light began broadcasting in Suva on FM93.6. Now Radio Light can be heard on FM106 from Sigatoka to Nadi and surrounding areas. In October 1st 2004 Radio Naya Jiwan our Hindi station went to air on FM94.8 in Suva and we look forward to FM103.4 our Fijian station coming soon. Radio Light now covers over half the population of Fiji with coverage from Nausori to Nadi. Radio Light also covers Kandavu Island and the outer islands in these areas, while Radio Naya Jiwan covers Suva. Our vision is to cover the nation of Fiji in all three major languages, English, Fijian and Hindustani and to have an effect on the South Pacific as a whole.

Radio Light has a Teaching format with Inspirational music It does not air commercial ads. Radio Lights target audience would be from the age of 25 and upwards with some programs for Children and youth. We are still working on Radio Naya Jiwan's format. It will be a music format with some teaching. Our main goal for Radio Naya Jiwan's format is to reach out to the lost as 98% of the Indian population in Fiji are Non-Christian. The format will be mainly a music format aimed at the youth and those who are asking many questions about life and God. We hope to introduce them to the true and living God who knows all our problems and cares, the giver of Life, our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

This year we have to move from the Pacific Harbour Cultural Centre because it has been sold and the new owner has other plans. We will be relocating our studios to Suva. We also plan to put in a transmitter in Sabeto for Nadi and Lautoka and Establish FM 103.4 as our Fijian Station. We will also work towards putting in a transmitter in Nadadivatu for Ba, Tavua and Rakiraki. To make these moves we will need to purchase equipment. We will be needing funds for STL links to link the studios at their new location to our transmitting sites. We will also be needing studio equipment for the Fijian station FM103.4. We still l need to purchase two transmitters and two Amplifiers for our Hindi and Fijian stations.

Our prayers are to see souls saved and transformed for Christ, to play a part in His great plan of bringing salvation to the Lost and strength to the Body of Christ.
