In 1980 a group of youngsters under the guidance of Welton "Papie" Esprit and his wife Rinnah, presented the population of Curaçao with a different scope of events: gospel drama, street evangelism, radical choreographic dancing, and music. This would be the prelude of a massive colorful presentation of the gospel for Curaçao, neighboring islands and the outer parts of the world.

The vision scope embraces the great call to “go ye therefore” and preach the gospel to every creature and teach the people to become God's disciples.

In 1982 New Song started a radio gospel program; then everyone tuning in to Radio Korsou FM, could listen to the first live Christian radio program on the island of Curaçao.

In 1987, after 7 years of evangelizing, New Song Church was founded.

In 1999 after seven years of petitioning the government, Radio New Song FM 96.5 came to life. Then in February 2001, the first test date of Radio New Song was scheduled. The plan was to find out if the installation worked. It did! And it has never stopped! The message of the gospel is broadcast around the clock and people as far as Bonaire can receive the good news.
