Uganda Radio
Winston Churchill once called Uganda the “Pearl of Africa”. Yearsafter that historic statement was uttered, Uganda suffered through ahorrific civil war which saw many thousands killed and many more leftwith extremely difficult living conditions.
Eventually,Uganda emerged under new leadership, only to face the devastation ofAIDS, which has swept across Africa at unprecedented speed andferocity. Once again, the Ugandan people have withstood the onslaughtof death, with the encouragement of their government and the ChristianCommunity who rallied behind them. New initiatives are underway toprovide health and educational support. In fact, these magnificentefforts have dramatically reduced the rate of AIDS spread…but it isstill not enough. More must be done to bring physical and spiritualhealing to Uganda.
AIDS has left in its wake, 2 millionorphans-children with no life support whatsoever. But God has heardtheir cry, and has called on Uganda’s churches to stand up for thechildren. One of these heroes is Bishop Grivas Musisi, pastor of PrayerPalace Christian Ministries of Kampala, and overseer of 85 Ugandanchurches scattered across the country. Bishop Grivas’ Prayer Palacecares for 250 AIDS orphans with limited food and education every day. These beautiful Ugandan children have one meal a day, sleep in verycrowded conditions and walk 4 miles to retrieve even the most basic oflife-water while striving to receive the education they desperatelyneed.
Bishop Grivas Musisi is actively seeking help for feeding, clothing and educating his “children” and for help to build them awater well. Be sure to listen to HELP THE CHILDREN at the end of thispage to hear first hand how your involvement can help so many.
BishopGrivas and his church have been praying and fasting for over two yearsfor the ability to speak words of comfort, and biblically based healingto Ugandans in their own language through radio. A radio broadcastlicense was secured but after two years, the pressing needs of BishopGrivas’ orphanage took priority-no equipment had been acquired. Untilrecently, technology had been cost prohibitive, but now it is possibleto install a radio station and run it both effectively and efficiently. With this knowledge, Bishop Grivas began his search for God’s choice ofpartner. Then, in the summer of 2003 through a miraculous series ofevents, Bishop Grivas and Bible Voice Broadcasting found each other, and the dream began to take shape.
Within weeks of that firstmeeting, a Canadian Christian family donated a transmitter, an antennaand the associated equipment. Two weeks later a Christian Tower company(Utah Towers) located a donated tower and provided engineering forinstallation, and within 30 days a Canadian charity (Universal Aid)donated the shipping costs so the towers could be sent. Then, a USChristian ministry (Blessings for Obedience) provided the help to loadand send the container. God continues to call for partners to helpBishop Grivas, his church and his children. Bible Voice is sending in equipment (in faith) butstill lacks the cost of even the basic start up studio ($2,000.00) orthe cost of installing the 300 foot tower ($6,000.00). Will you help usbuild this new Dunamis FM station for Kampala’s 3 million people byChristmas 2003?
