Paul's Radio Letters

Paul, who originally hails from Welton in Cumbria now lives and works in Jerusalem. He sends regular reports and interviews from Jerusalem about his schools work and stories from the Middle East. Here is Paul in his own words:

"I am a volunteer at St Paul’s, an Arab Anglican Church run by the London-based charity, Focus on Israel, and I am supported by my home church in Cumbria, Carlisle City Church on Lowther Street."

"My main work in Jerusalem is in the schools. I visit an Israeli school and many Arab schools in the Bethlehem area in Palestinian territory. My purpose is to share the love of God through the assemblies I take and to bring Arabs and Jews together."

"Over the next year I hope to start a new project bringing both sides together through football. It’s a great way of making contact with the youngsters here – they love football, especially the Palestinians."

"I also help out in a youth programme called King’s Kids, an inter-denominational initiative which unites young Arabs and Jews through music, games, Bible study, crafts such as woodwork, and dancing – traditional Arab, Israeli and English."
